The seventh largest and second
most populous municipality in Bergen County, Teaneck occupies
a position at the crossroads of geography that has made it the
site of many historical events. Settled by Dutch colonists in
the 17th century, Teaneck was traversed by George Washington
during the Revolutionary War, and in 1965 it became the first

Today, while retaining some of the oldest homes in the United
States, Teaneck offers a unique and evolving blend of cultures
and languages, with large Jewish and African-American communities,
